The teacher is supportive and encouraging as she guides students in gaining a solid foundation in keyboard technique and musicianship.
Each student’s age, ability and interests are considered when choosing teaching materials. Up to date core materials are used for teaching method. Students will often use lesson, theory, technique and performance books. A wide variety of supplemental books are also used in teaching as needed to ensure proficiency. The Royal Conservatory Achievement Program is used as a curriculum guide.
Lessons include music theory, sight reading, ear training and improvisation. Performance opportunities include a spring and fall recital each year, plus opportunities for adjudicated performance.
